Stitch, also known as Experiment 626, is a minor character in Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. He was originally found in Deep Space, on a prison ship, where he allied himself with Terra, Ventus, and Aqua as a member of the group and Nexus-D, but eventually escaped and made his way to Radiant Garden, where he fought alongside Sora and his friends in the Battle of the 1000 Heartless. Afterward, he joined them as a Summon. It originated in the Disney movie, Lilo & Stitch.

Land

This blue being is an alien resulting from the generic experiments of Dr. Jumba, a diabolical genius. It was created to harbor only destructive instincts, but is curious about friendship after meeting Terra.

Aqua

This blue being is an alien resulting from the generic experiments of Dr. Jumba, a diabolical genius. After being captured, he manages to escape and becomes one of the most wanted fugitives on his planet along with his creator.

Ventus

This blue being is an alien the result of the generic experiments of Dr. Jumba, a devilish genius. He carries a kind of copy of Always Together and seems to show a special interest in Ventus.

History

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Originally created by Dr. Jumba, 626 was imprisoned in a spaceship to be banished to a lifeless planet, under the watchful eye of Captain Gantu, after the arrest of its creator. Terra, deceived by Jumba, frees Stitch from the dome in which he was locked, at that moment he pounces on Terra and steals his Always Together, before Terra's pleas and despite the taunts of Dr. Jumba, Stitch is curious about the word "friendship" and returns the amulet. After the fight against Experiment 221, Stitch returns and asks Terra the meaning of friendship, without getting a sure answer from Terra. Then he meets Aqua, who decides to collaborate with the Grand Councilor.

on Stitch's capture mission. She is surprised to see that Stitch has an Siemprejojo, made by himself with pistols and other objects that he found on the ship. So Gantu, feeling humiliated by the alien, decides to capture it "in his own way." Aqua manages to stop him and captures Stitch and his creator, but asks the Councilor to postpone the sentence when she sees that he was not so bad. Finally he meets Ventus, who sneaked into the ship following a giant Nescient, a moment that Stitch took advantage of to escape again. Ventus meets with Stitch and when he sees the Siemprejuntos he asks him if he has seen Terra or Aqua, to which Stitch responds with the two words he learned from Terra: "Friends ... Together ...". Then the Nesciente appears and breaks Stitch's Always Together. Ventus manages to cheer him up by telling him that friendship is more than just an object. Gantu appears to try to take 626, but he knocks him out and he and Ventus manage to escape. In outer space, Stitch and Ventus are surrounded by enemy ships, at which point Stitch activates the Hyperdrive, forcing the ships to retreat. Stitch tries to tell Ven to get away, but he can't understand him, the shock wave from the Hyperdrive separates Ventus from Stitch.

Kingdom Hearts II

Stitch is one of two invocations in Kingdom Hearts II that makes a contribution to the story (in addition to Genie). His first appearance was when Sora, Donald, and Goofy entered the corridors leading to Ansem's Study, he was seen crawling over them without warning. During the next scene, he dropped onto the computer keyboard. Donald jumped on the keyboard to grab it, but Stitch jumped up with a grin. Later, in a scene showing the Final Fantasy characters fighting the Heartless, Stitch was seen fighting alongside them, using his "Lilo & Stitch" blasters. Stitch can be summoned in a battle with the Ukulele Charm. The way Stitch appears in combat is unique, because he doesn't actually enter the game.

Appearance

In his own words, "cute and fluffy", Stitch is covered in blue fur, dark spots on the back of his head and on his back as well. An oval nose rests in the center of the face, between its large black tear-shaped eyes. It has sharp teeth along with a long pink tongue. He has claws on his hands and on his stubby legs he has shorter claws. A short tail sticks out from its rear.

When it assumes its true alien form, Experiment 626 retains its basic appearance mentioned above, but sprouts a pair of strange arms, spikes on its back, and antennae. He has also been found wearing an orange uniform.

Its name comes from its creation, as it was Dr. Jumba's experimental creature 626.

Personality

After its creation, the sole purpose of Experiment 626 was to destroy everything in its path. He would laugh at the chaos caused, taking pleasure in hurting others. His time with Terra, Ven, and Aqua changed this, however, just as it did in the Disney movie that is based on Stitch's encounter with Lilo.

In Kingdom Hearts II, Stitch appears to still take pleasure in the annoyance he causes, but he knows the difference between good and evil, fighting Heartless with Sora and his friends. He is very loyal to those he cares for, despite his past. While something unknown caused this change in his behavior, in terms of the Kingdom Hearts story, it is most likely that Stitch reformed sometime between Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts II.

Curiosities

Stitch was included as a summon in Kingdom Hearts II thanks to a Disney poll, in which he came out as the second favorite Disney character in Japan.
