    The End World

The End World is an original world introduced in Kingdom Hearts III. It serves as a destination for those whose hearts and bodies perished together, but continue to persist due to something (or someone) holding them back from death.

    Summary

    Scenario

The End World is made up of an infinite blue sky with a reflective floor covered in water. There is only one other area in The Final World that leads Sora to an area that looks exactly the same, but with no reflective ground to walk on. The only thing in this room is a series of rotating block structures and the portal to take you back to the first area. If Sora drops the rotating structures, he eventually transports him back onto the rotating structure.

    History

    Kingdom Hearts III

Sora arrives here after being swept away by an Inferno Wave created by Terra-Xehanort at the Keyblade Necropolis. Immediately after reaching The End World, Sora encounters a Chirithy. According to Chirithy, this is not the first time Sora has been here, but rather the only time that he arrived unintentionally and therefore cannot leave alone as he could with previous visits. Chirithy goes on to explain that usually only the hearts of people whose hearts and bodies perished together, but who still have someone or something clinging to them, end up in The Final World. This is why Sora, who still has fragments of an astral body, must have somehow had not only his heart, but also his body thrown into this world. In order for Sora to return to his friends, he must first gather the pieces of himself that are scattered all over the world.

As he runs gathering fragments of his body, Sora meets the hearts of many people who tell him their stories.

One of the hearts Sora talks to tells him that his heart does not belong to anyone, that "they" took away his name and everything related to it. Sora tells her that there is no way someone can take her heart away, and she responds with "just because it bothers someone else". She explains that she is not sure if someone will come for her because who she longs for, her heart has been changed and replaced by someone else's, but if he recovered, her absence would haunt him. So she waits in case I ever look for her. Sora tells the heart to keep believing and not to lose hope that this person will come for her. Sora wishes to help her but realizes that her own situation means she has a lot to do, and she states that she must first solve her own problems. She guides Sora, telling him that he has a strong sense of purpose and that he will find his direction in that. Sora asks for the name of the person he's waiting for and she whispers in his ear. He tells her that this is his secret and leaves.

    The nameless star

Another heart that Sora finds is Naminé's. She explains that it was in Kairi's heart, but when they were hit by the Hell Wave, she woke up here. She tells Sora that Kairi is fine, but that she is fighting with all her might to keep Sora from fainting and that is the reason why her body ended up in The Final World. Sora doesn't want to leave Naminé behind, but she assures him that as soon as Kairi is safe, she will return to Kairi's heart. Sora tells Naminé that he wants to thank her, but not until she recovers her body. Naminé says it's okay if she doesn't get her body back because she's not the one everyone misses, it's Roxas they miss. Sora tells her that she is wrong, because he, Kairi, King Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Roxas and "someone special" want to see her again. She thanks Sora by telling him that she has been reviewing Terra's memories and that he is still tied to the Realm of Light, and will do her best to bring him back.

    Sora talking to Chirithy

Sora then goes through a portal to a structure made up of blocks covered with fragments of his body doing various things: some dancing, some flying, some running. Sora finds all of his shards, once again goes through a portal and Chirithy reappears. Chirithy tells Sora that it's time for him to go. But before leaving, Sora asks who Chirithy is waiting for. He refuses to say that the person he is waiting for no longer remembers him and that he is sure that this person is much happier with his new friends. Despite that, Chirithy decides to wait because he is sure that this person will one day reach The Final World. Sora tells Chirithy that he will visit him again because they are now friends, much to Chirithy's surprise. As Sora is leaving, he turns to ask Chirithy how to save his friends, tells Sora that he should already know how to restore someone's heart, and Sora opens a portal using the Keyblade. Chirithy tells Sora to seek the light in the darkness and to let his heart serve as his guide.

After the final battle against Master Xehanort, Sora and Kairi reach the Final World, due to Sora's sacrifice after using the power of awakening even without learning to control it; begins to fade. Sora starts yelling for Chirithy and Chirithy reappears before them, claiming to leave them alone for a moment. Both decide to accompany the Chirithy to meet his friend again.

    Kairi in the End World

At the end of Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory, Kairi is plunged into a deep sleep, where searching the memories of her heart, she searches for a connection that led her to Sora. Then she remembers something that happened to her when she was little; She was cornered by the Heartless and abducted by Xehanort, taking her to the ark where he transported her to the Destiny Islands. After fighting the ghost of Master Xehanort, he discovers something important: Sora appears to help him, but he finds himself in a place on the other side of reality. Kairi, Riku and the Fairy Godmother return to this world, to search for the "third key" (the first key from Kairi's memories and the second key from Riku's dreams) that, according to the Fairy Godmother, could help them find the way to Sora. They find the Nameless Star, who proceeds to the other side of reality, in a fictional world called Square. Riku uses the power of awakening with the Nameless Star to travel to Quadratum and find his best friend.
