The open world game genre is one of the most popular on PC and consoles. We have already seen sagas that have been adapted to this type of gameplay, such as The Legend of Zelda or Metal Gear Solid, but we cannot forget such popular titles as Fortnite, Cyberpunk 2077 o Ghost of Tsushima.
Have you ever wondered which map is the largest of these video games? Of course the size (in km2) It is not synonymous with wealth in some cases, but it is curious to see this comparison made by the channel Dimitris Galatas VFX, which collects more recent games such as Cyberpunk 2077 or Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
The video begins with large maps of some online multiplayer titles, such as Fortnite or Apex Legends, but it is raising the stakes with worlds as huge as those of the sagas Assassin's Creed, Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, The Witcher 3 and many others. We leave you with some examples:
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Asgard): 1,70 km2
- Apex Legends: 5 km2
- Fortnite: 6,8 km2
- Marvel's Spider-Man: 11 km2
- Immortals Fenyx Rising: 27 km2
- GTA San Andreas: 33 km2
- Forza Horizon 4: 71 km2
- Breath of the Wild: 72 km2
- GTA V: 82 km2 (130 km2 if we include the sea)
- Cyberpunk 2077: 225 km2
- Just Cause 4: 1024 km2
The most interesting thing about this comparison is that some games did not seem to have such extensive maps, since we can travel them in vehicles or other means of transport. Stand out Far Cry 5 o Just Cause 4, which surprise and dwarf other well-known games due to the great extent of their mapping.

It is not the first time that such a comparison has been made. A few months ago it happened with Ghost of Tsushima, the great Sucker Punch exclusive for PS4, and even on the channel itself we can see one focused on the Assassin's Creed saga, which shows the evolution of the franchise since 2007.
