Nvidia presented today a new series of GeForce RTX graphics cards, with which you will revolutionize PC video game technology with more realistic graphic effects than ever. ANDRay Tracing and DLSS 2.0 (which improves the resolution of the image) will display all the graphic power ... and soon they will reach the most popular game in the world.
Thus, in addition to presenting the new RTX 3080, RTX 3090 y RTX 3070, Nvidia has announced that Fortnite on PC will soon feature Ray Tracing and DLSS technology, which will offer an immersive experience with better light effects, reflections on surfaces, shadows and ambient occlusion.
In the same presentation, the power of the new RTX was also demonstrated with a new Cyberpunk 2077 video and a new Watch Dogs Legion trailer, which you can see below.
Ray tracing technology in Fortnite will be applied in four fundamental points: light reflections on shiny and metallic surfaces; modeling of the shadows with much more detail depending on the surface; global lighting on the map, environments and characters with much more precision; and ambient occlusion, which causes light to filter in a subtle way as it passes through objects or surfaces, such as vegetation.

It is not yet known when the game will be updated to make room for this new technology, although they did announce that there will be a new map of the creative mode, RTX Treasure Run, designed to take full advantage of all these effects.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, which will use the new Unreal Engine 5, are expected to feature similar graphical effects as well.
