    Tornado

Tornado is a Clash Royale epic rarity card that can be obtained from the Valley of Spells arena (Arena 5).

    Strategy

    Tornado + Tornado
    Verdugo Tornado
This combination is very powerful in defense, especially to destroy attacks with tanks, such as Giant, Golem or Lava Hound, because at the same time that it damages the tank it damages the troops that are behind it

    Tornado + Tornado
    Magic archer Tornado
This combination is mainly offensive, because if used correctly you can make the Magic Archer hit the tower and other troops from your side of the Arena, although it can also be used to defend swarms by taking advantage of the splash of the Magic Archer.

    Strategy

    • The Tornado's damage output is enough to completely defeat all units with less health than Goblins. When combined with another inexpensive spell, you can defeat them along with Minions, Plunder Girls, Princess, and Sprite Thrower. Although this is usually a negative Elixir trade, it can be useful to eliminate the opponent's defending swarms.
    • It does not affect structures with its pull effect, but it does damage them slightly, which means it can be used to take down low health Crown Towers.
    • Any unit caught in the Tornado can attack as long as a target is within range. Because of this, ranged troops hardly suffer when dragged away from their target, so it's best to bring them closer to negate their range advantage.
    • The Tornado can be useful to separate units and weaken attacks. However, if placed incorrectly, it can be very punishing, as it can drag dangerous enemy troops, such as Mini PEKKA, closer to the Tower of Crowns.
    • It can be used to drag defending units out of the way. This is particularly effective when trying to preserve glass cannons to maximize damage production. It's also great with Graveyard, as it can knock defending units like the Valkyrie out of the way.
    • It can also be used to drag ranged troops to any high damage dealer. This is a great way to play PEKKA and Tornado decks. The Executioner and the Mage pair well in this deck as well, as their area damage capabilities can be used effectively with the Tornado's pull, taking out hordes of low to medium health units. Using similar thinking, the Tornado can also lead troops into a bomb dropped by the player's Giant Skeleton or Bombastic Balloon to completely defeat them or at least heavily damage them.
    • The Tornado is difficult to master, and a poor placement of this card can result in an Elixir deficit and great damage to the player's own Crown Towers. To reduce the chance of this happening, drag rather than tap when deploying the Tornado, as the exact area of effect will be visible. The player can hold down the spell before releasing it.
    • The splash troops used in conjunction with the Tornado are a devastating combination as enemy units cluster in the center of the Tornado, leaving them vulnerable to splash damage. A deadly combo is Tornado + Sparkles. The Tornado can rally enemy troops and allow Sparks to fire a shot, severely damaging units within its blast radius.
    • The Tornado can take out a Giant Skeleton from the player's Tower of Crowns at the last second so its deadly bomb doesn't cause massive damage.
    • The Tornado's large radius and one-second duration make it very useful against Clone. The low damage from the Tornado is irrelevant as all Clones only have one hit point. However, certain cloned troops will avoid being defeated entirely, such as the Skeleton Barrel, which has a delay in its death spawn, meaning that the Skeletons will still have to be defended.
    • The Tornado is especially effective at countering attacks from Miner or Barrel of Goblins. If the cards are placed anywhere besides the outer corner of the Tower of Crowns, the Tornado can force the King's Tower to activate and be able to weaken these cards much more quickly in future attacks. Even if they place their card in the outer corner of the Tower of Crowns to try to avoid the Tornado's pull, this is easily predictable as there is no other location where their troop can safely attack the tower. After activating the King's Tower, the Tornado should be used to draw troops to the center within range of the three Crown Towers to maximize the defender's advantage. Cheap troops like Skeletons can also be placed to hold troops there longer.
    • If an opponent often distracts a Crossbow or Mortar with a single unit that is positioned slightly back to its side, a Tornado predictive placement can allow the siege structure to focus on the Tower of Crowns when taking the unit out of range. of the structure. This is most easily done by pulling the unit back. The player should also try to use it to move the unit to the other lane if possible, so that it does not help defend the structure after the pull. The player should try to make the effect of the Tornado begin as soon as the opponent's unit is deployed, so that the unit does not resist the pull of the Tornado by walking forward. While this will activate the opponent's King's Tower, Siege Buildings will never be affected by the activation.

    Counterstraegia

    • Any unit moving in the opposite direction to where the Tornado is pulling them will resist the pull, and the unit will not move that far. Because of this, the Tornado works more efficiently the slower the target troop is. For example, a Hog Rider can last longer than a Musketeer due to the difference in speed. The stationary troops are heavily influenced.
    • It can be used to activate the player's King's Tower. For most melee troops, placing it in the square directly in front of the King's Tower and two squares in the defense lane will trigger an activation. This will allow additional defense against future attacks, as the King's Tower can attack any troop that is near the Crown Towers. Depending on how the opponent primarily deals tower damage, taking Tower of Crowns damage to activate King's Tower can be a waste. For example, the Noble Giant will never be within range of the King's Tower while attacking a Tower of Crowns, weakening the effectiveness of the activation. Unless the player can take a substantial advantage of the King's Tower, it may be better to simply use the Tornado in other situations.
    • It is not recommended to bring extremely powerful troops to the King's Tower like Golem or PEKKA more than once. Troops with extremely high health will be able to survive the attacks from the three Towers of Crowns for a long time, allowing other troops to do significant damage to the Towers of Crowns if they do not defend themselves. Additionally, they are likely to do significant damage to the King's Tower, opening up the possibility of a three-crown "backdoor" victory.
    • For a neutral exchange, it can be used to lure a Princess within range of a Tower of Crowns, allowing you to destroy it. However, you will still get around 1 or 2 hits so this is a last resort.
