Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat (in Spanish Dulce o Truco), originally called "Angry Birds Halloween", is the first episode of Angry Birds Seasons and Season 1, released in October 2010 (although it previously appeared in the 2011 Seasons pack, in Angry Birds Seasons), and based on the Halloween party.

On Halloween night, pigs steal the birds' eggs, while a pig disguised as a ghost scares them.

"The World of Angry Birds Official Guide" gives the following description:

NIGHT OF THE EGG SNATCHERS I like dark and stormy nights. They remind me of my cave. But none was as terrifying as the Halloween when the birds found their nest empty. Had the eggs been grabbed by gruesome zombies, fearsome vampires or wicked witches? No, it was just the pigs — although Smooth Cheeks' face is just as freaky as any fright mask if you ask me!

Features

It is based on the Halloween party and as such has a dark and spooky atmosphere. Pumpkins and Jack-O Lantens appear as objects; the latter when destroyed give 3,000 points, and the pigs wear hats made of small gourds and are sometimes hidden inside a gourd. A pig at level 3-15 appears disguised as a ghost, balancing on a suspended platform.

• The Golden Egg # 1, which can be obtained at level 3-2, using Hal to break a pumpkin on top.

• The Big Level of this episode, the "Big Pumpkin" (The Great Pumpkin, in Spanish), is unlocked by obtaining 3 stars in all the levels.

The forgotten Golden Egg

In Trick or Treat there was a Golden Egg on Matilda's intro screen, just like the one in the original game, Angry Birds. Actually, that golden egg shouldn't be there, and it was a bug of the game. Rovio removed the golden egg and fixed the problem with the new version.

Curiosities

• This is the first episode based on Halloween, the second is Ham'o'ween, the third is Haunted Hogs, the fourth is Invasion of the Egg Snatchers, and the fifth is Hammier Things.
• This is the only Angry Birds Seasons episode that has opening, middle, and ending cutscenes. This is probably because this was the only episode originally planned.
• There is a comic strip based on this episode called Angry Birds: A Halloween Special.
• This is the first episode to have a common pig instead of the Cape Pig in the first scene.
• This is the first episode to remove its scenes and replace them with a more recent final photo.
• Before the idea for Angry Birds Seasons came up, the Angry Birds Halloween game was originally going to feature Halloween-themed episodes rather than levels themed from various other celebrations.
