    TridentTridentTridentTridentTridentTridentTridentTrident Trident

El Trident It is a sacred relic that gives its bearer the ability to control the sea, or Atlantica. It is more of a spellcasting weapon than a melee weapon. King Triton is the current bearer of the Trident, although there were also other bearers, such as the evil Ursula.

    Summary

    Powers

His main attack is a large blast of yellow energy against a certain target. He has shown other abilities, for example manipulating water and changing the current state of a being. In Kingdom Hearts II, King Triton uses it to write his name on a contract. When the trident is used by Ursula, some new "battle-type" attacks can be seen, such as thunder and snowstorm, against this being Atlantica's second boss, but it is not true that all these attacks were original powers of the Trident. . For this reason it is said that the Trident is capable of adapting to the user who handles it, for example, these new attacks from Úrsula when he handles it, or when it becomes giant, he also grows, etc.

    History

    Kingdom Hearts

In Kingdom Hearts, King Triton is the bearer of the Trident. He uses his power to destroy Helinauts, who attempt to enter the castle, and in one case, and after destroying the Trident Crystal, he is actually the key to reveal the Lock of Atlantica. Ursula eventually steals the Trident from King Triton's hands, and, like the movie, it grows to a gigantic size. Sora and company defeat her, and then use the Trident as a replacement for the Trident Crystal, thus sealing the Lock.

There are also markers along the walls in Atlantica, usually in the Palace, that are shaped like a Trident.

    Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories

The story begins with Sora, Donald and Goofy reunited with Ariel while he is swimming with them carrying the Trident. She tells them not to tell anyone they saw her wearing it. Sora and company when they enter the Palace, they find that the Trident was stolen and that Ariel has been lost.

Later, Sora and company discover that Ariel stole the trident, but only to help Flounder who was lost in the surface world. Ariel was going to give Úrsula the weapon, since it was the only way to save her friend. They all traveled to Ursula's Lair, discovering that she kidnapped Flounder as a way to get the Trident, which Ariel had previously given to her to save Flounder.

In the end, Ariel retrieves the Trident and Sora suggests that she should tell her father that she found the Trident and got it back alone. But she says she can't do that because it was a mistake she made to help her friend. Then, he ends up telling the truth when he returns the Trident.

    Kingdom Hearts II

In Kingdom Hearts II, the Trident only appears in scenes with Triton and the battle song against Ursula, where she uses it as a weapon again. During the battle, Ursula uses it to deflect Sora's attacks and attack him, Ariel, and the others. At the end of the song, Sora successfully knocks the Trident out of Ursula's hands, and sends it to where Prince Eric's ship is located. Eric then uses it as a javelin to defeat Ursula once again. The Trident was last seen being used by King Triton by casting a light on the spider web in the palace in the musical "A new day has dawned".

    Etymology

A trident is the royal scepter of Poseidon and Triton in Greek mythology, although in Roman mythology it is known as the "Trident of Neptune", since that is the Latin name for Poseidon. They are both gods of the sea and water.
