Turkey Day (Harvest Festival in English) is an event that occurs on 4th Thursday of November, as well as Thanksgiving (actual celebration in which it is inspired).

The event is not present in the Dōbutsu no Mori and Dōbutsu no Mori + versions, but was introduced in the Western version, Animal Crossing: Population: Increasing! and later in Dōbutsu no Mori e +. Like other holidays, Turkey Day was also absent from Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Animal Crossing: Population: on the rise!

On this day there will be a great banquet at the Fountain of Desires (where a festive music will be heard), many neighbors will be there laughing and drinking. There you will also find Tortimer, who will tell you that it is a time of abundance and will give you the Cornucopia so that you get excited for the party, he will also tell you that they celebrate Turkey Day as an excuse to gorge themselves on eating. If you talk to the neighbors at the banquet, they will talk to you about how to use the cutlery, how they are dressed, what is on Turkey Day, the food, etc.

Guindo will find himself hidden behind any sign, tree or house. When you find him he will be scared because he will think that you have come to hunt him, then he will ask you what they are up to in the town and he will tell you about the invitation that Tortimer sent him saying the following:

Animal Crossing: City Folk/Let's Go to the City

Outside the Town Hall, large tables will be prepared with a great banquet, with which the player cannot interact.

Throughout Turkey Day, Guindo will appear and when he is found for the first time he will explain that Tortimer sent him an invitation letter to be a "special guest" at the celebration, but Guindo noticed that under "guest" he had half erased the word. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Turkey Day Feast at New Leaf.

At New Leaf, Turkey Day receives a major makeover. Guindo returns to make an appearance again, although this time as an organizer and chef in the Plaza del Pueblo. Guindo will ask the Player for three ingredients (including but not limited to flour, milk, fish, and fruit) and a fourth secret ingredient to improve the quality of the dish. To receive one of the ingredients (flour, vinegar, milk, butter or sugar), the player must go through the town exchanging ingredients with their Neighbors until they get the one they need. Neighbors can also give mushrooms or fruits. The neighbors will only ask for fish (Sea Bass, Perch, Horse Mackerel, Carp, Carpín and Barbo). After the player turns in the requested fish, they will offer a hint as to the secret ingredient for the dish they are currently working on or a possible later dish. After the player has completed a plate, they will be rewarded with a turkey series piece of furniture. Once the player has given them the ingredients for the final dish, the neighbors will stop asking for ingredients.

Curiosities

Like other holidays, Turkey Day is not celebrated in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
