Appearance
Setzer dresses in a very extravagant way but faithful to his original Final Fantasy VI costume (unlike his personality), his suit consists of a light blue shirt with black pants, he has a kind of handkerchief that crosses his pants a little lower from his waist, he wears large boots with different shades of violet and on this suit he wears a black and gold vest as a cape, his hair is silver and he combs it back leaving some loose strands giving a more serious appearance, his eyes are purple pale, and her skin pale. This outfit gives him a characteristic pirate air.
Personality
In Kingdom Hearts, Setzer is very confident, cunning and vain, apparently he has not won the championship in a clean way since he offers Roxas a prize if he lets himself win, his confident and relaxed appearance has won several admirers that he They follow where he presents himself, he is very refined in what his clothes consist of since he is too formal for a battle, his way of grasping his sword of struggle shows his excessive confidence. This personality however differs from that of the true FFVI Setzer, who had poise no doubt, but was more like Luxord in character, often using rhetorical phrases. Setzer's personality in KH is a nod to another FFVI character, Edgar.
Pepito's Diary
Kingdom Hearts II
A wandering gambler, always ready for a game or a challenge. He dedicates his life completely to chance and let luck guide him.
Setzer won last year's struggle. It is usually surrounded by an entourage of screaming girls.
History
Kingdom Hearts II
Setzer is the champion of the previous Struggle Championship Contest during Roxas' days at the Virtual Twilight Village. After Roxas defeats Hayner and Vivi (not counting Axel), the challenger faces Setzer. Before the match, Setzer offers Roxas a reward if he lets himself win, implying that although Setzer remained a champion for a long time, he doesn't mind having to pay to maintain his position of fame and glory, but Roxas rejects his offer. If Roxas wins the match, Setzer silently leaves the field going to say something to him but ultimately retiring during the appointment of the new champion. On the contrary, if Roxas loses the fight, Setzer keeps his word and gives him a medal as a reward, which can increase the strength of our character.
By participating with Sora in the Struggle, he is the second opponent that you must defeat in the tournament if you beat him 10 times, you will be able to face Seifer (this is a reference to how Seifer got his trophy, since he defeated Seifer like Roxas did) You can find him in front of the station where he will speak to you in a very friendly way. He is not a proper antagonist but rather could be classified as a famous figure, who seeks life by steeping himself in false glory.
Mango
In the manga, Setzer appears in chapters 4 and 5 of the first volume of Kingdom Hearts II.
His role, despite being the same as that of the video game, is minor in comparison. One notable difference is that he does not come to any kind of agreement with Roxas to let himself win, the two fighting directly. Although neither the combat nor the appointment of Roxas as the new champion is shown in the manga, although Setzer was defeated anyway. His form of combat seems to be much more aggressive than in video games.
Chief
His attacks are simple, first he will attack with centered lunges that can be blocked and counterattacked, when he is weakened he will jump back and start to turn sharply on this occasion you can roll on the ground to avoid it quickly, when he kneels stay away because if you attack him you will He will counterattack with a great blow that will send you into the air and can combine it with his spin. Despite this, he is less aggressive in his style than Hayner.

He ends up becoming one of Terra Branford's team members when they find him at an opera that he planned to thwart. Persuaded by a losing bet against Celes, Setzer allows the team to travel on his ship, though over time he develops a deeper friendship with the rest of the group. Setzer wields a variety of game equipment as weaponry, such as cards, dice, and darts and does well on all stats except magic. His specialty is reflected in the games of Chance and his ship is named after one of these.
