    Terra - Xehanort
    History
    Quotes

"You must be strong. A strong heart will make you overcome even the hardest tests. »- Terra to Cinderella

Land is one of the three main characters in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. He is one of the three chosen of the Keyblade before Sora. It first appears in the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts II, "The Gathering", which continues in the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. In the video, Terra appears fighting Master Xehanort and Vanitas, along with Aqua and Ventus. There is a great latent darkness in his heart, which he tries to control.

Terra means land in Latin which could mean a connection with Riku, whose name in Japanese means the same thing. Both have always been close to the dark and are two very similar characters in terms of personality.

He takes the keyblade oath with Riku when he was little, so it can be deduced that he is able to use it thanks to Terra.

In addition, Terra's external design bears a strong resemblance to Zack, but psychologically he is more similar to his mentor Angeal, or to a lesser degree to Cloud and Leon. His battle pose is the same as Tidus from Final Fantasy X.

    Summary

    Appearance

    Land Land

Terra is an imposing and stern-looking young man whose face is soft, but hard at the same time. His eyes (as with most of the most important characters in Kingdom Hearts) are a striking light blue and he wears half-length hair with a peculiar hairstyle, as he sports a crest with two strands that falls on both sides. of the face and a short spiky mane that reaches beyond the cheeks, of a dark brown color. Terra usually wears a gray shirt with a high, short and tight neckline, although black also in the side area with two strips of red fabric coming out from the hips along the chest, following the back and ending in the back, forming a showy X He wears a strange thick gray belt with two buttons that is apparently held by a smaller black belt whose termination is prolonged in two short ribbons at the front and there he wears his golden insignia, like his Master Eraqus and his two friends, Aqua and Ventus although they wear it silver. In addition, Terra also wears large and wide pants similar to a Japanese hakama, revealing her feet inside metallic boots of dark and light ocher color on the edges. Showing off his position as the wielder of the Keyblade, Terra permanently wears a piece of his armor on his left arm that, if such is his wish, he can strike it to summon it fully, ending in a gray fingerless glove, which It differs greatly from the other arm as it leaves it completely bare except for a black leather bracelet. Terra's armor is brown, red, and gold that includes two wrist guards and a helmet with two parallel horn-like extensions. One thing to note is that even with the armor on, the abdominal part is visible. His coat is sandy in color.

    Personality

In terms of character, Terra is somewhat similar to Riku, as the two act as the leader of their group of friends, both are quiet and somewhat reserved to share their feelings with others. Terra gets along especially well with his two training partners, Ventus and Aqua, since in those moments his most sensitive side is seen, especially with Ventus, who was friendly with the boy from their first meeting and even gave him his Key Wooden sword, his relationship with Aqua is somewhat more respectful, although it has been speculated that they could be in love, and that is why when Terra discovers that Aqua spies on him by order of his master, he gets extremely angry with her and tells him about it. retract hurt directly.

However, Terra becomes much more introverted when he realized the darkness of his heart and this was the reason why he distances himself from Aqua and Ventus. His fear of his darkness is such that he was easily fooled by Xehanort, telling him that the darkness should not be erased but channeled in the proper way. Following the philosophy of Xehanort, Terra is often seen in the worlds trying to control the darkness of his heart, which is why, he is very frequently deceived by other like-minded characters to use his darkness, such as Maleficent or Hades, without Terra find out, until it's too late. In the moments when Terra surrenders to his darkness, he can enter a state of sadness or disgust towards himself, such as an uncontrolled rage in cases where someone threatens one of his friends, which causes a greater lack of control in the darkness of your heart. Even with everything she's going through, Terra knows how much she would like to see her two friends again, showing great longing for them. However, and as Xehanort himself says, there is still light in Terra's heart, a force that guides her steps to Riku, her successor.

    About

    Land

Dry but honorable in character, Terra is another aspiring Keyblade Master. He maintains a great friendship with his training partners Aqua and Ventus, as well as a healthy rivalry. Although he is aware that the darkness dwells lethargic in the depths of his heart, he prefers to turn his back on him. However, his determination is cut short when Master Xehanort reveals that the darkness can be controlled if you know how.

    Ventus and Aqua

Dry but honorable in character, Terra is another aspiring Keyblade Master. A strong bond of friendship unites her with her companions Aqua and Ventus, although there is also a healthy rivalry between them.

    Skills

Terra relies primarily on the use of the Keyblade, coupled with overwhelming physical strength and great stamina. Although he cleverly uses magic, his techniques focus primarily on melee attacks, such as lunges and other equally effective tactics. Although he was excluded from the title of Master due to his lack of control by the darkness of his heart, Terra's power level is comparable to one of these. Due to his amazing physical power and the power gained by the darkness Terra makes him a truly formidable warrior, capable of facing Xehanort himself in combat and defeating him.

    Its command styles are:

    • Critical Impact: It is activated when Terra uses physical commands, such as volatile cisco, lunge among others. Terra surrounds himself with an aura of light, and his attacks double his normal power and range, all hits made in this style are critical and the end of the combo does it in a somersault against the ground. As a final blow, he will perform a big jump and hit the ground creating a shock wave.
    • Firebreaker: It is activated by using powerful physical attacks and magics of the earth element mainly, such as Earthquake, Telluric Impact or Meteo. Terra will be wrapped in an aura with small rocks that rise around him, his attacks will triple the normal power and will have double range, also all the blows will lift the enemy into the air, and the end of the combo will end with a blow that will make them sprout a rock from the ground. The final blow raises rocky boulders from the ground and throws them at enemies.
    • Shadow Impulse: It is activated by using commands involving gravity, magnetism and darkness such as gravity ++, revenge, magnet ++, etc. Terra will surround himself with a dark aura and the left fist will glow white, the attacks are enhanced and doubled in speed and power as well as in the number of blows ending the combo by making an arm of darkness emerge forward. As a final blow, Terra will melt into the ground in the shadows and rise from the ground and strike the enemy from below with a hand of darkness.

    Main Article: Latent Consciousness

Once you defeat Xemnas with all the Locks in the game sealed, a portal will appear in Disney Castle, which you can enter. When you enter through this portal there will be the armor of Terra with the Keyblade (Latent Consciousness). He is stronger than Sephiroth, and has been confirmed to be the strongest enemy in this game. When you defeat him after a great battle, he will kneel before you and say that you are a good chosen one. You can fight with him as many times as you want. You may spend a lot of ultra potions in this battle, as it can take most of your life with one attack (just like Sephiroth).

    Terra summoning his keyblade

Terra's exclusive Keyblades are based on the element of earth, alluding to the meaning of its name in Latin, and on the element of darkness, due to its great affinity with it. Telluria and Shadow Dent are weak Keyblades, while Postrimeria and Chaotic are their respective enhancements. Terra's Keyblades also focus on strength rather than magic. A clear example would be Chaotic, the keyblade with the most attack bonuses in the entire game. Terra also used to train with his wooden Keyblade, which later fell into Ventus' hands. Terra's Keyblade versions are considerably longer than Aqua and Ventus's. When Terra summons her Keyblade, light effects, blocks, and rings appear.

    Curiosities

    • It could be said that Xemnas is the Nobody of Terra and part of Xehanort.
    • Xehanort's heartless is also partly Terra's heartless.
    • He is the second character chronologically to go from being a friend to the main enemy of all deliveries (the first is Master Xehanort).
    • He has problems with his darkness and ends up being controlled by Xehanort as happened to Riku, besides that both had a contact with said character.
    • He bears a certain physical resemblance to Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII.
    • His battle pose is the same as Tidus from FFX.
    • Terra and Eraqus have a father-son relationship, despite not being related.
    • Terra has the ability to see into the future, as can be seen when scenes from the final combat in the Keyblade Necropolis come to mind or when seeing 16-year-old Riku when he meets him in the Destiny Islands.
    • Terra is the only playable character that, when facing a boss, plays his main theme, and not that of said boss (the theme of Terra against Eraqus, and Rage Awakened against Terra-Xehanort).
    • After finishing his story in Radiant Garden, Terra is the only one who does not receive an exclusive keychain, as Ventus receives the Crackling Flame and Aqua receives the Embrace of Destiny.
    • Terra is the only character in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep who does not receive help from Disney characters as companions in battle.
    • The Kingdom Hearts trio are named after the 3 primary elements of nature (common in Japanese culture): Sora means "Sky", Riku means "Earth" and Kairi means "Ocean". This can be related to the main characters in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, where their Latin names are translated: Ventus means "Wind", Terra means "Earth" and Aqua means "Water". This shows us a correlation between the characters and their personalities respectively.
