Lea he is the complete being of Axel, and he is a close friend of Isa, the complete being of Saïx. He appears in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, when he was a teenager, alongside Isa. In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Lea appears as a complete being and ally of the protagonists.

At some point in her life, Lea's heart was consumed by darkness, rendering her heartless. However, his strong heart gave him the ability to continue as a Nobody: Axel. Later, Organization XIII found the incorporeal, and this received the name of Axel and was admitted in the organization as number VIII.

On one occasion in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days in a scene with Saïx he calls Axel by his old name, since they were previously friends.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

A friendly, cheerful boy who tends to jump into things without consulting anyone --- sometimes with disastrous results. He seems to be tied up in others to be remembered, and he taught Ventus the importance of making friends.

Appearance

In KH Birth by Sleep, Lea is seen to be the same age as Ventus, with short hair with several upturned ends. Lea's eyes are also a greenish turquoise color exactly the same as Axel's eyes. He wears an orange sleeveless jacket with a white one underneath, a tank top and baggy tan pants, with red and white sneakers and black socks. The pockets of the jacket are much darker than the orange of the rest of it. He does not possess Axel's purple teardrop facial markings in the game, but interestingly, they are present in his artwork.

He also wears a yellow and brown scarf around his neck. The pattern on this scarf changes abruptly near Lea's neck, from stripes to a very organized checkerboard pattern. Like Braig's scarf, the tip of Lea's scarf is worn a bit. He bears a curious resemblance to Hayner.

Lea carries two red frisbees with black edges, each adorned with a bomb design, which then influences her choice of weapons as an adult: Chakrams.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, he does not possess the teardrop-shaped facial markings either, yet Lea is identical to his incorporeal, Axel, wearing his Organization XIII trench coat and brandishing the Eternal Flames, his Chakrams, and as a bonus. a Keyblade, which shows at the end of the game.

Lea is both childish and competitive, willing to interrupt Isa's routine for her fight with Ventus. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

As Terra and Aqua leave Radiant Garden, Lea conspires with her best friend Isa to enter Ansem the Wise's castle. As they pass in front of the town square, Lea warns Ventus that she dropped her Wooden Keyblade and picks it up, offering it to give it back to him.

Although Isa tells her that she needs to hurry, Lea tells her that "it will only take a second." He calls Ventus "a boy" to "play" with a wooden "toy" sword, and proudly displays his first-time Chakrams, saying they are real weapons. Lea and Isa introduce themselves and ask Ventus's name. Once the introductions are done, Lea asks Ventus to fight him, which causes Ventus to be confused. Ventus agrees with a smile while Isa looks on with an amused smile.

Ventus defeats Lea with ease, knocking him out of breath. Lea tries to cover up her defeat by saying she's been lucky, only to be teased by Isa. The three laugh, and Isa reminds Lea that they have to go. Lea next tells Ventus that they will meet again one day, because now they are friends. Isa asks Lea why she continues to "collect stray dogs", and Lea tells her that she wants to live forever in the memory of everyone she meets. The two meet at the castle, and Lea asks Isa if he is "ready", before they go out together.

Some time after Terra-Xehanort is defeated and found by Ansem the Wise, Dilan fights and throws Lea and a resigned Isa out of the castle, while Aeleus watches. Afterwards, the friends go to the city castle to buy Mc Pato Sea Salt Ice Cream, and they look up at the sky while they eat.

At some point, Isa and Lea's hearts were consumed by darkness, and they transformed into Heartless (this event occurred in Ansem the Wise's computer room, along with the apprentices). However, their strong hearts and wills allowed their bodies and souls to continue as incorporeal. Organization XIII recruited the friends, naming them "Axel" and "Saïx", with the numbers VIII and VII respectively. However, the two joined the Organization with a plan to take over.

Lea appears in Radiant Garden talking to Ienzo and the other apprentices and then defending King Mickey from Maleficent and Pete at Disney Castle. His appearance is the same as Axel's, but without the vertical lines that are under his eyes, and he uses his typical phrases "How can it be" referring to expensive jobs and "Do you get it?" Their weapons are still the Chakrams "eternal flames" that Axel used, however in the final scene of the game, it has been seen that Lea also has a keyblade of her own. It is possible that said keyblade is able to transform into their Chakrams to fight, in a similar way what Persistent Feeling and No Heart did with theirs, and the way of Terra, Ventus and Aqua, to also convert theirs into transport and weapons (see Keyblade Glider and Terra's Artema Cannon). However, this ability is not confirmed so it may be that Lea simply has the two weapons individually.

Lea helps Riku and King Mickey rescue Sora's body from the new Organization XIII. Later, in the Tower of Mysteries, Lea informs Yen Sid that he has a Keyblade and that he wants to become an apprentice in order to become a Master with it. At that time he explains that until now he had not shown it because it was difficult for him to invoke it, and moments later he makes it appear, to the surprise of all those present including Yen Sid himself. Such a keyblade has the bridges of the handle in the shape of a Chakram and the middle and upper edge are shaped like a flame referring to its element.

Curiosities

• The only physical difference between Axel and the new Lea who appears in Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance is just the two purple marks under his eyes, on his cheeks.
• It's funny that when he was complete again he was still wearing the Organization XIII outfit while Even, Ienzo, Dilan, and Aeleus had their original Birth by Sleep outfits.
• Despite the fact that in KH 3D Dream Drop Distance, she is able to summon a Keyblade, Lea still uses her chakrams to fight. It is possible that like other Keyblade users (such as Terra, Ven, Aqua or Xehanort) he will be able to change the shape of his Keyblade, if any, to the usual chakrams for fighting.
