El Napoleon fish (Napoleonfish in English) is a reef (ocean) fish that was introduced in Animal Crossing: City Folk / Let's Go To The City. Napoleon fish are like the Clown Fish, they are born from one genus and then can be changed. Clownfish are always born male and then can change to female, Napoleon fish are the other way around, always being born female. During the first years of life they can transform into males, without knowing the reasons or mechanisms that trigger this change. While females do not usually exceed one meter in length, males can double that size. In the game, they are all around 2 meters, so it is suspected that the player will only be able to find males. These fish live between 20 and 30 years.

Fishing
You have to be very focused. Try not to have noises around you or people talking to you to maintain this concentration. You always have to wait for the fish to bite the hook, because sometimes it seems that it is going to bite and it does not (try, therefore, to wait until you see the buoy sinking and pull quickly). It is advisable to go to Tortimer Island (Animal Crossing: New Leaf), as it will be slightly easier to find than in the village.

City Folk/Let's Go to the City
Uhu, what a size! What majesty! What an extraordinary fish ... In its adult stage, the wrasse can reach over 2 m. His small eyes and prominent mouth give him an absent-minded air that I find charming.
New Leaf
Although "wrasse fish" is their most common name, they are also known as "Maori". Their most distinctive feature is the bulge that they exhibit just above the head. All are born female, but some become males when they reach a certain age. The males are larger and a more intense blue, so they are easy to identify. They swim gracefully, and that they can exceed two meters in length and 200 kilos in weight. They are quite a show, so finding them is the goal of many divers.
New Horizons
Uhu! What you have brought me! Nothing less than an elegant and stately wrasse ... They are often seen in groups, with their bulging eyes and prominent head. And, like a good tropical fish that inhabits reefs, it boasts some showy colors. Although unfortunately it is a threatened species, so we must do everything possible to preserve it.

It won't give you anything. He doesn't like Napoleon Fish.
Extra information
It is the largest member of the wrasse family, being able to exceed two meters in length and 200 kg in weight. They inhabit reefs, and feed primarily on crustaceans. Currently its population is in danger due to overfishing.
Napoleon fish are hermaphroditic, always being born female. During the first years of life they can transform into males, without knowing the reasons or mechanisms that trigger this change. While females do not usually exceed one meter in length, males can double that size. These fish live between 20 and 30 years.
