Respawn has played it to us but well. Last week they revealed who was going to be the new character to be added with Season 4, a guy named Forge. Everything seemed normal, nobody suspected anything. Until a few days later, he was killed before he even made it to the game.
Of course, it was all a ruse to introduce who he really is the new Legend that will arrive next week. The robot that ended Forge's life, and whose name is Revenant. This is your cinematic trailer.

There you can see him doing what he does best, which is kill everyone wanted. If they wanted to reflect their intimidating nature and extraordinary combat ability with all this they have mounted (as well as attracting attention), they have certainly succeeded.
The official website, which yesterday still featured the illustration of Forge with a sign lamenting his death, has now been updated to make Revenant official. This is its description:
Consumed with hatred and obsessed with revenge, Revenant uses supernatural abilities to stalk his enemies and defy death.
Apex Legends Season 4, named Assimilation, will begin next 4 February. That same day will also be when Revenant is available to play with him.
