The Skeld, often abbreviated as Skeld, is the first Among Us map set on a spaceship in outer space. It is selected automatically when you open the game for the first time. The map was the only one included in the first version of the game's release in 2018, and MIRA HQ, Polus, and The Airship were subsequently added. This map was the most popular for its design, tasks and some features that it integrates.

Trivia
- There are four visual tasks in The Skeld. Crewmembers can prove their innocence by completing them in front of others if the visual effects are enabled in the game settings.
- Various vents are scattered across the map, similar to Polus. The vents in Administration, Cafeteria and the corridor north of Escudos connect. The vents in Electricity, Medical Wing and Security connect. The vents in Navigation, Shields and Armory connect. The vents on the Lower Motor, Reactor and Upper Motor are connected.
- During April Fool's Day, The Skeld's textures and layout are reversed, making the map look like it's flying backwards. The Skeld's name is also changed to "ehT dlekS".
- Because there are many visual tasks in The Skeld, it is considered the easiest map when the visual effects are on.
- The Skeld is known as the most popular map in the game.
- Ghosts can fly out of The Skeld, although there is an invisible barrier that eventually prevents them from going any further if they get too far away.
- During Halloween in 2019 and 2020, The Skeld, along with MIRA HQ, received some changes, giving it Halloween decorations such as cobwebs, spiders, bats, pumpkins, candles, etc.
- The Skeld is the third largest map in the game, the smallest is MIRA HQ, the second largest is Polus, and the largest is The Airship.
- Each room in The Skeld contains a vent, excluding O2, Communications, and Warehouse.
