Vital is an ability in Among Us, which any player, including ghosts, can use to get information on how many players are dead.

Vitals is located in the Office at Polus and Nursing at The Airship. This ability is used to check the vital signs of the players to see who is alive, dead or has disconnected. All players appear in the order they joined the lobby.

Vitals can be used to find The Imposters who report the corpses of Crewmen they killed themselves.

Interface

When viewing Vitals, players are listed in the order they joined the game. The following indicators show the status of the respective player:

OK indicates that the player is still alive.
DED indicates that the player has been killed since the last emergency meeting and has not disconnected from the game. This means that his body is somewhere on the map and can be reported.
D/C indicates that the player's body does not exist and / or that the player has disconnected from the game. This could be because they died before the last emergency meeting, were kicked out, or simply disconnected.

Note that if a player disconnects after being killed, and despite being before the next meeting, they will appear as D / C even though his body is on the map and can still be reported. This makes it impossible for other players to know if they were killed or disconnected while alive.

Curiosities

The company that made the machine is called "Simsong", a parody of the real-life Korean electronics company Samsung.
- This is also present in the remastered version of Stealing the Diamond, as well as in the Rewind Tape task interface.
The "Y2K-404" code, found in the lower right corner, is likely a reference to the Y2K phenomenon and the HTTP 404 error when a requested page or file cannot be found on the Internet.
The number "20190707" can be seen in the lower right corner, which could mean that the Vitales interface was designed on July 7, 2019.
The Vitals button does not appear in The Airship; instead the use button appears.
There used to be a visual bug where some of the colors matched a wrong name. (example: Purple's vital name said "BRWN", which means Brown)
Some earlier MacOS versions of the game after Polus launched contained a bug where using Vitals while there was a simultaneous emergency meeting and report would crash the game.
The next Vitals screen shows "DED" when someone dies instead of "DEAD", which is what Vitals now shows.
